Everything that could have gone wrong for us on the weekend, went wrong. Man City beat West Ham and went seven points ahead of us. Chelsea and the linesmen cheated their way to a 2-1 victory over us, and Liverpool beat Newcastle to go above us on goal difference.Anyway, regardless of the fact that we were cheated out of a win, the Cheatski match confirmed a few things:
- That our strikers are beyond repair and need to be replaced
- That Bale & Lennon are easily contained by defences
- Sandro & Modric in the middle is the way forwards
- VDV just does what he wants, when he wants, and compromises the shape and attacking threat of the team
- Gomes is becoming more and more difficult for his fans to defend
- The FIFA hierarchy need to introduce video technology, or they need to be assassinated

With only one league win in eight since the win against AC Milan at the San Siro, or to put it another way, two losses, five draws and one win (8 out of 24 points) Out of interest, in that same time, Man City have got 13 points from 21 and Liverpool 16 points from 24. I predict 6th place is where we are going to end. I really don't see us beating either Man City or Liverpool away.
And with the prospect of no European football next season, Redknapp has come out and said that we should remember where we were when he first arrived, (twopointseightgames) he won't be selling his big stars, and that we just need to add a few top quality players to challenge for the top four and the league. Scotty Parker, Charlie Adam, get your bags packed, Pienaar needs company on the bench.... sigh, coys.
