Man U v Spurs Preview - Opposition Fan View, Pub Ammo & Team News

Fresh from our five goal destruction of Hearts, tonight we kick off our latest Premier League campaign against the reigning Premier League champions. Hearts was a warm up, this is the real test of where we are. If we can play with the same dominating fluidity as we did midweek, we might actually have a shot at beating the injury ravaged champions. And whats more, the referee is not Mark (Mendes disallowed goal, Nani hand ball goal) Clattenburg. It's Mr Lee (not sending Adam off for his tackle on Bale at the lane last season) Probert...oh...

Opposition Fan View
Despite our woeful record at Old Trafford, they know we aren't afraid to come and have a go. We're not the sort of team that goes to Old Trafford and parks the bus, and although the majority want to persist with the shaky De Gea to allow him to get up to speed, they're a bit worried about a team with such attacking class as Tottenham going up against him. Despite the misgivings in De Gea, they're more hopeful/confident of their defence being able to deal with us and they are very confident of their ability to pin us back in our own half with their own attacking threat.

The following quote sums up the general consensus:
"LLDLLLLLLLLLDDLLLLL That is the spuds record in league at o/t since the prem began btw."

Score predictions approx: Man U Win 70%, Draw 25%, Spurs Win 5%

Pub Ammo
-Tottenham have failed to win any of their last 24 meetings with Manchester United in all competitions.
-Spurs' last victory over United was a 3-1 success in May 2001 at White Hart Lane.
-It's 22 years since Spurs last won at Old Trafford - a 1-0 victory in December 1989 courtesy of a Gary Lineker goal.
-Man U won 18 of their 19 league games at Old Trafford last season, equalling the Premier League record for most points won on home turf.
-Seven of our eight league losses in 2010-11 came away from home.

Team News
Luka Modric is likely to return to the squad, as is Huddlestone after starting on the bench at Hearts, but Sandro, Palacios, Pienaar, Jenas, King, Gallas and Hutton are all out, while Crouch faces a late fitness test.

tottenham team to play man u
Man U have a dodgy keeper, so it's only fair we play ours as well. Then again, Gomes could up his game and have a good season for us... Walker to remain at right back, Modric and Huddlestone in central mid. Unless they aren't 100% and in that case, the Krancjar / Livermore Hearts combination will do fine. Defoe and VDV were looking sharp, so I've left them up the top. However, if Crouch is fit, it may be better to play him in Defoe's place and put in lots of high balls to put De Gea under pressure. Who knows what the score is going to be. We haven't seen us in competitive action against a top side yet, and although we looked good against Hearts, this is Manchester United, at Old Trafford. Tough gig.

UPDATE: According to Redknapp, Modric's "head is not in the right place." Replace him with Krancjar and sell the arsehole. I hope he rots on the bench. Nobody is bigger than the club.
