Pav-erage-lachenko’s Post Rubin Quotes – A Positive Change for Good This Time!?

Roman Pav-erage-lachenko once again temporarily silenced his critics and showed why he is the most frustrating Spurs player in the history of the game. Month after month of mediocrity with flashes of quality few and far between. And last night brought us one of those flashes, and was swiftly followed up with his latest mood swing in his post match comments. But this time, the comments contained some interesting things I've never heard Pavlazychenko utter before...

"That was my 40th goal for Spurs. But 40 goals is not enough. I need more to make sure I make Russia's squad for the European Championships."

"I'm also not first choice for the Premier League and, if I score more, it might be different for me."

!!!

Instead of feeling sorry for himself and getting his agent to release a story claiming he wants to quit when he's not playing because he is treated unfairly at Spurs, and that he wants to fight for his place when he has a game and scores, before swiftly crawling under his rock for a sulk again. Pav has actually admitted the reason he is not in the team is not because he isn't given a fair crack at the whip, but because he doesn't score enough goals! Finally, he gets it!

They say that the first step on the road to redemption is admittance, so is this Pav's first step on the route to becoming a permanent Super Pav? Or will we see more stories in the press as the transfer window approaches, claiming that Pav has to move because [insert pathetic excuse here]? ...Yeah... it's going to be the second one isn't it... But I'd love him to prove me wrong.

p.s. Can we all please agree to stop using headlines like "Pav That" and "Pav Some of That" every time he scores a goal. K. Thanks. COYS.
