Spurs v Villa - Opposition Fan Forum View, Pub Ammo & Team News

The Aston Villa online forums are a darkened picture of despair at the upcoming match against us. Hutton is getting some abuse for being useless and the Villa fans reckon that if Bale can make Maicon look crap, Hutton is going to look worse than a Sunday leaguer. They reckon we should expect at least one penalty from Hutton gifted most likely against Bale.

Another interesting point I picked up on this season more than last year, is that they absolutely hate Redknapp, more so than any other teams fans I've come across. Apparently it's all down to one point in history when they were playing Portsmouth. Portsmouth went 3-1 up, Harry decided to taunt the Holte end by showing 3 fingers on 1 hand and 1 on the other. Sore losers if anything.

In terms of the actual game, even more sulking and despair. Not many of them predicting a win, and all will be over the moon with a point. A few of them saying that they may, just may snatch that point if Agbonlahor, following his hamstring injury on England duty plays and VDV doesn't. Mixed news for Villa, but the hamstring twins are both playing tomorrow.

Villa Fan Predictions: Spurs Win 80%, Draw 15%, Villa Win 5%

(Ultra Positive) Pub Ammo
-Spurs are unbeaten since 2008 against Villa, did the double over them last season and have enjoyed five successive home victories. Furthermore, Villa have only won at White Hart Lane once in a decade
-Aston Villa have only lost twice under Alex McLeish – who was relegated in north London in May  although the fixture computer has been very kind to them, having played just two of the top eight.
-Villa are winless away this season.
-Villa have shipped ten in four matches and Spurs have gone six Premier League fixtures without a clean sheet. Goals guaranteed. (not actually guaranteed)
-Spurs have lost just once there in the past 21 Premier League matches at the Lane.
-Alan Hutton returns to the lane with a daunting task up against Bale, whilst Friedel faces his former club along with Walker to face the club that kindly developed him for us last season.
-Lennon, Bale, Adebayor, Defoe, Modric, Walker and Parker this season have made 81 successful dribbles between them, more than Villa’s team total of 64.
-Spurs have made their best start to a season since 1990, when they also had 22 points from 10 matches.
-Villa have dropped a league-high nine points from winning positions this season.
-The Villans are unbeaten in all six league matches against London clubs in 2011. Tottenham were the last London club to beat them, winning 2-1 at Villa Park on Boxing Day 2010.

Team News
Rafa revealed via twitter on Sunday evening that he's fit to face Villa. Modric's fitness is being "monitored" after he played twice for Croatia in the international break. Gallas, Kranjcar, Rose, Dawson and Huddlestone remain out.
Same team again please.

I really want us to win this match, I know a particularly mouthy Villa fan who I'd love to send a torrent of abusive text messages to after the game! Said Villa fans are surely begrudgingly looking at Spurs right now and thinking that it could have been them in our position. Had they got into the Champions League instead of us two seasons ago, and kept hold of their top players as we have done, they just might have been. However they aren't, and a win for us sends us into third, still with a game in hand. The form says us, the stats say us, the bookies say us, even Lawro predicted us for the win. Let's not disappoint everyone. 4-1 Spurs. COYS!
