Have we finally worked out how to score from corners? Short and low to Bale is the key, the first goal was a near-post corner from Modric to Bale, who slipped his marker and darted across the box to the near post to flick past Jaaskelainen. 1-0.
The red card, was very very harsh. It was definitely a foul, but Cahill was definitely not the last man. Parker and Adebayor were harassing the Bolton defenders and following a bad touch from Cahill, Parker nicked the ball and would have been away with Defoe in the middle racing up field as well. However, Parker was brought down and the ref gave Cahill a straight red. The foul took place right in front of where I sit and I've got to say, when it happened myself and others around me jumped up screaming for a free kick and maybe a yellow card. Needless to say, given that we could see right across the line and that Cahill was not the last defender, a red card was not expected. After using the word "harsh" about 20 times in half a minute, I stopped feeling sorry for Bolton and started thinking about 2nd place.
Our second came as a result of a break from a Bolton corner. Walker under pressure sent the ball to Adebayor who passed into the path of the on rushing Defoe. Jermain took it forward to the edge of the area, slid it left to Lennon, who cut inside, faked a shot, jinked right to work to space and fired a shot into the goal. 2-0.
Our third came from the short corner again. Modric to the near post, Bale flicks on, this time he doesn't get enough on it to score, but it does fall to Defoe who duly taps in from a few yards out. 3-0.
The substitutions following the third made the game a bit flat, but by this time the job was done dusted.

Player Ratings
Friedel 7 - Made one decent save that I can remember, plus a few easy collections from tame shots. As always, distribution and control of his defence is top notch.
Walker 6.5 - Beaten a few times down the right again, but top pass under pressure to set off our counter attack for the second goal.
Kaboul 7 - Still performing very well. Appears to like playing along side the experience of either King or Gallas. Also seemed to like his new chant as he gave the fans singing it a appreciative clap.Gallas 7 - Not exactly the equivalent of throwing him in at the deep end on his return to premier league action, but did what he needed to do.
BAE 7.5 - Top performance as always. Calm in defence, incisive going forwards. Only one mistake made where he cut in and lost the ball, but was quickly back to intercept and cut out the danger.
Lennon 8
Parker 7.5 - Brought about the red card, and once again was all over the Bolton players as soon as he saw them with the ball. Modric put him through on a one on one, which he unfortunately didn't score. Gutted. I don't think there’s a Spurs fan in the world right now who would say they aren't really looking forward to Parker's first goal for us.
Modric 8
Bale 8.5 Defoe 7.5
Adebayor 6.5 - Quiet by his standards and missed quite a few chances.
Subs
VDV 6 - Ran about a bit. Drifted from the right and his introduction flattened the game.
Livermore 6 - Ran about a bit less.
