Spurs 1 Wolves 1 - Report, Ratings & Player Twitter Reaction

A frustrating day at the lane saw a hemmed in Spurs drop two points and miss the chance to go joint top. Wolves came out with the intention of pressuring us all over the pitch and maintained it for 90 minutes. A point well deserved for them but very disappointing for us considering how well we dominated Everton Wednesday night.

The Wolves goal came when the ref incorrectly awarded them a corner. Over it came and found Roger Johnson out-jumping Dawson who headed on target only for Luka to poke it away from the goal line straight to Fletcher who blasted the ball into the net. 0-1 Wolves.

More frustratingly fruitless toil from Spurs until a good spell of pressure in the second half saw us equalise via Modric. Bale passes into the path of Modric who sets himself and blasts the ball underneath Hennessey from outside the box. 1-1.

The pressure failed to produce another goal and Wolves gradually got themselves back in the game and held on for a draw.

Player Twitter Reaction
Younes Kaboul - Evening all, tough game 2day everyone worked hard to come back in the game...Head up nd looking forward for next week.Great support again.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto - Shit result! Dont need it now! But we cannot win every game... My both ankle is pain full -((( LOL Fokus on man city now

Stephen Pienaar - 1-1 unlucky result today, especially the disallowed goal from ade. Hopefully I'll be over this tonsillitis soon!

Player Ratings
Friedel 7 - A few good saves. Perhaps should have come to collect the corner.
Walker 6.5 - Plenty of pacey attacks and interceptions, but final ball was questionable.
Dawson 6 - Out-jumped for the Wolves goal and was frequently beaten in the air.
Kaboul 6.5 - Better than Dawson and attempted to drive the team forwards with surging runs from the back.
BAE 6.5 - Poor final balls throughout, went off injured in the second half.
Lennon 6 - Quiet. Stay on the right.
Modric 6.9 - Yes he scored a goal, but his shooting is the only thing that lets him down as a player. 2 or 3 other golden shooting opportunities wasted with tame shots from Luka.
Parker 6.5 - Worked hard but wasn't a stand out performance we've come to expect.
Bale 6 - Quiet. Stay on the left.
VDV 6 - Some good play, but mostly frustrated by Wolves and left with no time on the ball.
Ade 6 - Goal wrongly ruled offside but has been very quiet for a few matches now. Time for Defoe to get a start.

Subs
Rose 5
- No impact.
Defoe 5.5 - Perhaps should have been bought on a lot earlier.

We're still in this, but need some really strong results against the big teams in the upcoming matches. Corner practice all week please Spurs.
