Spurs 2 Everton 0 - Report, Ratings and Twitter Reaction from BAE, Lennon and others

Some lovely flowing football last night in a game which in all honesty, we completely dominated. I was a bit worried about not having Parker or Sandro as the steel in the midfield, but Livermore was outstanding. As were the two goals that got us the three points that take us level with United in second.

The first goal came as Benny played a sumptuous cross field ball to Lennon, who controlled it and beat Baines to dribble into the box and get a shot off that wrong footed Howard and rolled into the net. 1-0 Spurs.

The domination continued for the remainder of the half and into the second, when Benny received the ball from VDV, took a few touches looking for a pass, but instead saw a gap and put his foot through the ball. A slight deflection of an Everton player saw the 35 yard screamer fly into the top corner leaving Howard with no chance. 2-0. Job done.

Finally, a BAE chant took hold. It only took a wonder goal to kick it into action! To the tune of the White Stripes, 7 nation army - Ben-oit Assou Ekot-tooo, Ben-oit Assou Ekot-tooo, Ben-oit Assou Ekot-tooo... and so on. Credit goes to this man for starting it.

Player Ratings
Friedel 7 - Not alot to do but calm and authoritative under attack and great distribution.
Walker 7.5 - Some lovely runs down the right, pacey tracking back and solid defensively
Kaboul 7.5 - Ka-boul, Ka-boul, Ka-boul is on fi-re.
Dawson 7.9 - Didn't at all look like it was just his second game back from injury. Awesome Dawson.
BAE 9 - His usual excellent self in defence and attack. PLUS, two major things of note, the pin point cross field ball to Lennon for the first goal, and his 35 yard screamer for the second.
Lennon 7 - Nice goal, did well to control it, go past players whilst staying on his feet and scuffing wrong footing Howard to put us 1-0 up. Wasn't running at and skinning people as much as he was before his injury.
Livermore 9 - Against West Brom he looked out of his depth, last night he was immense. Great tackling and as it turns out a big player for the future. 76 out of 77 passes completed. Quality. (thanks to @bmthyid for the screen cap bottom right)
Modric 7.5 - Quietly going about his job of controlling the midfield.
Bale 7 - A few of his usual runs, but mostly quiet.
VDV 7.5 - Linked the play well.
Ade 6.5 - Some good hold up play but squandered a few chances.

Subs
Pienaar 6 - Lively
Pav 4 - Did nothing except forget to run for a ball that would have put him one on one with the keeper. He thought he was offside, the linesman was just looking at him shrugging. Play to the whistle you lazy git.

Believe! COYS!
